A shell exploded in the territory of the Kherson Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos.

On June 4, 2026, during another shelling of Kherson by Russian forces, the Greek-Sophia Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church was damaged, as reported by the press service of the Kherson Eparchy.

According to the eparchy's information, one of the shells hit the church territory. As a result of the explosion, the façade of the church was damaged, the icons inside were affected, and the windows were once again blown out.

Previously, the UOJ reported that as a result of Kherson shelling, churches of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church were repeatedly damaged, including the Holy Spirit Cathedral and other shrines of the eparchy.
