UCCRO members meet Israeli Ambassador at synagogue

The Israeli Ambassador noted the contribution of people from Ukraine to the development of Ukrainian-Israeli relations.

On June 3, 2026, a meeting of the UCCRO members with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the State of Israel to Ukraine, Michael Brodsky, took place at the Kyiv Grand Choral Synagogue, reports the Institute for Religious Freedom.

The event was attended by speakers from the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, and representatives of the Roman Catholic Church, who familiarized the diplomat with the Council's activities within the country and at the international level.

During the conversation, religious leaders emphasized foreign policy issues, stating that Russia uses religion as a "weapon" against Ukraine. Ambassador Michael Brodsky responded by noting the active position of the Jewish community in conveying information about the war to the world and emphasized the contribution of people from Ukraine to the development of interstate relations.

From the religious organizations, the meeting was attended by Deputy Head of the Synodal Department of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine Yevstratiy Zoria, Roman Catholic Church Bishop Vitaliy Kryvytskyi, employee of the Department of External Relations of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church Roman Kakaliuk, Mufti Ahmed Tamim, and Rabbi Avraham Bleich.

As the UOJ reported, the Prime Minister discussed with the UCCRO a shift to state-Church partnership.
