As a result of the shelling, a UOC church in Chornomorsk was damaged
Windows were broken and the Sunday school area was destroyed at the Transfiguration Church.
On June 7, 2026, as a result of a strike by Russian forces on Chornomorsk in Odesa region, the Holy Transfiguration Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church was damaged. This was reported by the Odesa Eparchy.
As a result of the shelling, windows were blown out in the church, Sunday school premises were damaged, the adjacent territory was destroyed, and the church fence was partially damaged.
The eparchy noted that the shrine was among the facilities that suffered during another attack on the city. According to preliminary data, human casualties among the clergy and parishioners were avoided.
The Odesa Eparchy also appealed to believers with a request to support the restoration of the damaged church. For this purpose, a collection of donations has been opened through the eparchy's charitable foundation.
As SPJ wrote, as a result of shelling, a UOC church in Yunakovka, Sumy region, was destroyed.
