"Hierarch" of OCU: Victory will come when we destroy the UOC, this cancerous tumor
Sergey Gorobtsov called the UOC an "enemy" and a "cancerous tumor"
Donetsk Metropolitan OCU Sergiy Gorobtsov on his Facebook page called the Ukrainian Orthodox Church an "enemy" and a "cancerous tumor," and also called for its destruction.
"The Moscow Patriarchate has become a cancerous tumor in the body of Ukraine. This is an enemy that is sometimes more dangerous than Kadyrov's men or the Russian National Guard. They are not fighting for territory – they are fighting for the souls of Ukrainians, depriving people of freedom, dignity and the right to independently choose their future. Therefore, Ukraine's real victory will not only be on the front. It will come when only those churches that pray for their people, for their defenders and their country remain within the state. And representatives of the aggressor state in cassocks will not be able to spread their propaganda on Ukrainian soil," wrote Gorobtsov.
He also criticized UOC priests for not abandoning their parishes in the combat zone. Gorobtsov himself left his Donetsk and Mariupol diocese long ago and "serves" in a temple seized from the UOC in Kiev.
Earlier, the Union of Orthodox Journalists reported that Gorobtsov announced taking control of St. John's Church.
