A cleric from Romania joined the Kyiv Patriarchate, declaring his desire to maintain 'unity' with Nikodim's structure.

On June 20, 2026, the head of the UOC KP "patriarch" Nikodim granted the request of a Romanian priest and accepted his community under his omophorion. The structure was joined by priest Gheorghe-Alexandru Acasandrei together with the parish of Saint Alexander, located in the village of Corbaska in Bacău County, Romania.

According to the official decree, the Romanian cleric is now placed under the direct authority of the head of the Kyiv Patriarchate. Priest Gheorghe-Alexandru submitted his petition as early as June 4, 2026, declaring his desire to remain in "canonical unity" with Nikodim's organization. The UOC KP itself described this step as another stage in the "affirmation" of its structure.

As reported by SPJ, a cleric of the OCU joined the UOC KP.
