During meetings with European experts in Belgium, UCCRO representatives spoke in favor of Ukraine’s swift European integration.

A delegation of the Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations (UCCRO) visited Brussels, where it held a series of meetings with European experts and religious figures. One of the topics of dialogue was an appeal to European institutions to accelerate the process of Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.

During the discussions, Ukrainian religious leaders stressed that the country’s full membership in the EU is a necessary condition for ensuring long-term peace and stability. In their view, Ukrainian society has already made its choice of values and now expects decisive steps from its European partners.

The visit of the Ukrainian delegation took place with the support of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation Office in Ukraine. During the trip, representatives of various faiths discussed with their European colleagues not only political prospects, but also issues of international humanitarian cooperation and the role of religious communities in the country’s recovery.

As the UOJ reported, DESS discussed with the Council of Churches the review of laws for compliance with the EU.
