Constantinople Patriarch Bartholomew received the honorary consul of Greece in Kherson and prominent businessman Panteleimon Boumbouras at his residence in Istanbul. This was reported by VEMA.
The parties discussed the current situation in Ukraine, in particular the ongoing attacks on civilian infrastructure and Orthodox churches. Boumbouras, who is an archon of the Constantinople Patriarchate and conducts business in Ukraine, described to the head of the Phanar in detail the consequences of the shelling.
At the end of the audience, the philanthropist noted the Patriarch's deep awareness of Ukrainian affairs. "I am always struck not only by the fact that our Patriarch cares about Ukraine and Ukrainian believers, but also by his profound knowledge of what is happening in the country," said Panteleimon Boumbouras.
