Head of Phanar Discussed Shelling of Churches with Honorary Consul of Greece in Kherson

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew received at his residence in Istanbul the Honorary Consul of Greece in Kherson and prominent businessman Panteleimon Boumbouras. This was reported by VEMA.
The parties discussed the current situation in Ukraine, in particular the ongoing attacks on civilian infrastructure and Orthodox churches. Boumbouras, who is an Archon of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and conducts business in Ukraine, gave the head of the Phanar a detailed account of the consequences of the shelling.
At the conclusion of the audience, the philanthropist noted the Patriarch's deep awareness of Ukrainian affairs. "I am always struck not only by the fact that our Patriarch cares about Ukraine and Ukrainian believers, but also by his profound knowledge of what is happening in the country," said Panteleimon Boumbouras.
