Around 400 participants, including representatives of Dumenko’s structure, held a joint prayer breakfast in Dnipro.

The event brought together representatives of various religious communities, officials, doctors, and public figures for a “common prayer” for the people and future of Ukraine, the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine reported on Facebook.

The OCU was represented at the breakfast by “Metropolitan” Simeon Zinkevych of Dnipro and “Archbishop” Mitrofan of Kharkiv. In his address, Zinkevych emphasized the need for Ukrainians to unite in prayer for the state.

Rabbi Shmuel Kamenetsky of Dnipro also addressed the participants, saying that today “the whole world is watching Ukraine.” He concluded his remarks with the Jewish prayer “Oseh Shalom,” offering wishes of well-being for Ukraine and Israel.

Julie S. Davis, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the United States in Ukraine, addressed the gathering via video link. She supported the idea of interfaith prayer and called on those present to pray for a “just peace.”

During the meeting, representatives of various faiths discussed the role of religious communities in preserving “moral values” and “social harmony.”

As the UOJ reported, OCU clerics visited a mosque in Kharkiv on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.
