In Dnipro, OCU "hierarchs" had a prayer breakfast with Jews and Catholics
About 400 participants, including representatives of Dumenko's structure, held a joint prayer breakfast in Dnipro.
The event brought together representatives of various religious communities, officials, medical workers, and public figures to offer a "common prayer" for the people and the future of Ukraine. This was reported by the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine on Facebook.
Representing the OCU at the breakfast were "Metropolitan" of Dnipro Simeon Zinkevych and "Archbishop" of Kharkiv Mitrofan. In his speech, Zinkevych emphasized the need for Ukrainians to be united in prayer for the state.
The participants were also addressed by the rabbi of Dnipro, Shmuel Kaminetsky, who stated that today "the whole world is watching Ukraine," and concluded his speech with the Jewish prayer "Oseh Shalom," expressing wishes for the well-being of Ukraine and Israel.
Julie S. Davis, the U.S. Chargé d'Affaires ad interim in Ukraine, also addressed those gathered via video link. She supported the idea of interfaith prayer and urged them to ask for a "just peace." During the meeting, representatives of various confessions discussed the role of spiritual communities in preserving "moral values" and "public harmony."
As the UOJ reported, OCU clergy visited a Kharkiv mosque on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.
