On June 25, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church marks the name day of its Primate. It was in honor of St. Onuphrius the Great that on March 18, 1971, the future First Hierarch, Orest Berezovskyi, received monastic tonsure and was given the name Onuphry.
The celebrations in Feofania marked the beginning of festive services dedicated to the heavenly patron of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry.
As the UOJ reported, Metropolitan Onuphry said that a saint is one whom nothing could tear away from the love of God.
