Cause of Metropolitan Theodosiy’s worsening health condition revealed
Doctors at a cardiology inpatient unit performed an MRI scan and comprehensive diagnostics on Metropolitan Theodosiy of Kaniv and Cherkasy to clarify his diagnosis. According to UOJ sources in the Cherkasy Eparchy, the examination confirmed injuries to the cervical spine and head.
The hierarch sustained these injuries during an attack by militants on the Cherkasy cathedral, when one of the radicals struck him deliberately on the head with a wooden stick.
At present, the hierarch’s general condition is further complicated by stage III chronic arterial hypertension, which led cardiologists to insist on his immediate hospitalization for round-the-clock medical supervision.
As the UOJ reported, an activist who fired shots in the Cherkasy cathedral staged a provocation against the UOC hierarch.
