On the feast day of St. Stephen cel Mare, representatives of the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Eparchy concelebrated the Liturgy at a monastery of the Romanian Orthodox Church.

On July 2, 2026, clergy of the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church took part in a solemn service at Romania’s Putna Monastery on the occasion of the repose day of St. Stephen cel Mare, whose holy relics rest in the monastery. This was reported on Facebook by faithful of the eparchy.

The festive Divine Liturgy was led by Metropolitan Ephraim, a hierarch of the Patriarchate of Antioch. Concelebrating with him were the monastery’s abbot, Archimandrite Melchizedek (Melnyk), brethren of the monastery in holy orders, clergy of the Romanian Orthodox Church, and invited priests.

With the blessing of the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Eparchy, Mitred Archpriest Vasyl Kovalchuk, dean of the Storozhynets District, arrived together with clergy of the eparchy to share in the prayerful joy of the feast.

After the service, solemn events dedicated to the memory of St. Stephen cel Mare were held at the monastery.

As the UOJ reported, clerics of the Romanian Church served at the patronal feast in Krasnoilsk.
