Lotysh: After Lavra shelling, we established close contact with MinCulture
Avraamiy Lotysh thanked the Minister of Culture for her involvement in the preservation of the Dormition Cathedral.
The abbot of the PCU Lavra, Avraamiy Lotysh, stated that the damage to the Dormition Cathedral allowed him to establish direct interaction with the Ministry of Culture. In an interview with TSN, he admitted that prior to the fire incident, he had not had proper communication with the ministry.
Lotysh thanked Minister Tatiana Berezhna for her involvement in the fate of the cathedral and emphasized that the tragedy became an occasion for strengthening administrative ties. "I would like to thank our minister Tatiana Berezhna, who also took a direct part in ensuring that the Dormition Cathedral was preserved."
"In fact, that incident, so to speak, provided an opportunity to establish communication and a direct connection with the ministries of various relevant areas," said Avraamiy. He also noted that having such direct government contact is extremely important for the "holy monastery."
As the UOJ reported, a court selected a preventive measure for the former Minister of Culture who had threatened the monks of the Lavra.
