Metropolitan Serhiy Led the Festive Liturgy at the Kreshchatyk Monastery

On July 7, 2026, the men's monastery in honor of the Apostle John the Theologian in the village of Kreshchatyk, Chernivtsi region, celebrated one of its patronal feasts — the Nativity of the Holy Prophet, Forerunner, and Baptist of the Lord, John. This was reported on the Facebook page of the faithful of the Chernivtsi Diocese.

The festive Divine Liturgy was led by Metropolitan Serhiy of Ternopil and Kremenets. He was co-served by Metropolitan Meletiy of Chernivtsi and Bukovyna, Metropolitan Volodymyr of Pochaiv, Metropolitan Yevsevy of Shepetivka and Slavuta, Bishop Kleopa of Novoselytsia, Bishop Nikita of Ivano-Frankivsk and Kolomyia, the brethren of the monastery in holy orders, the clergy of the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Diocese, and guests from other dioceses of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

On the eve of the feast, an All-Night Vigil was celebrated at the monastery, also led by Metropolitan Serhiy, co-served by Metropolitans Meletiy and Yevsevy, the brethren of the monastery, and the diocesan clergy.

Earlier, the SPJ reported that on July 4, a traditional cross procession to the Kreshchatyk Monastery took place, in which more than five thousand faithful participated. The pilgrims covered approximately 40 kilometers, offering prayers for peace in Ukraine.
