The ruling bishop of the Ovruch Diocese had a tumor removed at the Shalimov Institute in Kyiv.

Metropolitan Vissarion of Ovruch and Korosten underwent a complex surgery at the Shalimov Institute in Kyiv. This was reported by the Telegram channel "Pershyi Kozatskyi".

In mid-May, a tumor was removed from the Metropolitan of Ovruch and Korosten at the Shalimov Institute. The surgical procedure lasted 9 hours. This was the bishop's seventh operation.

According to those close to the bishop, the operation was successful; however, Metropolitan Vissarion now requires a lengthy recovery and costly treatment. Following the surgical intervention, virtually all of the vladyka's funds were directed toward medical expenses.

The metropolitan's family and loved ones are appealing to the faithful for assistance in purchasing the necessary medications. These include supportive therapy drugs, the cost of which amounts to several thousand hryvnias per day.

"We ask all caring Orthodox Christians to support Vladyka Vissarion during this difficult time and to pray for his speedy recovery," reads the appeal from those close to the bishop.

A bank account has been opened to assist Metropolitan Vissarion: 5168 7521 5121 8826.

As the Union of Orthodox Journalists reported, Metropolitan Vissarion was hospitalized in serious condition last year.
