More than 100 young men and women will spend several days by a lake in the Zdolbuniv deanery of the UOC’s Rivne Eparchy.

On July 13, 2026, the annual Orthodox youth gathering opened in the Zdolbuniv deanery of the UOC’s Rivne Eparchy, the eparchial press service reports.

More than 100 young men and women aged 14 and older will spend several days by a lake, combining communal prayer, spiritual fellowship, and outdoor recreation. According to the organizers, the location was chosen specifically to give participants a chance to step away from the bustle of everyday life, spend time in nature, pray in peace, and strengthen their Orthodox faith.

The gathering began with a communal prayer, after which the young participants were divided into six age groups. Each group was assigned a clergyman who will accompany its members throughout the event, lead Bible study sessions and spiritual discussions, answer questions, and help maintain the daily schedule.

Alongside the spiritual program, participants will take part in sports competitions, creative activities, team games, meetings, fellowship, and shared recreation. Organizers say the main purpose of the gathering is to create an environment for the spiritual growth of young people, strengthen friendships, and deepen their knowledge of the Orthodox tradition.

As previously reported by the UOJ, an Orthodox youth forum bringing together 2,400 participants will be held in Bucharest.
