Cardinal from the UGCC given a tour of the Far Caves of the Lavra
Ostapenko showed the UGCC cardinal the damage to the Dormition Cathedral.
Cardinal UGCC Mykola Bychok visited the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra and the Far Caves. He inspected the Dormition Cathedral, which was damaged by a drone strike, and familiarized himself with the progress of restoration work. This was reported by the National Reserve on Facebook.
The visit took place in the company of the General Director of the National Reserve, Maksym Ostapenko. The head of the reserve showed the guest the damaged Dormition Cathedral and presented an exhibition dedicated to the history of the shrine. The UGCC representative was also informed about the measures being taken to preserve the architectural heritage of the monastery.
In the Far (Theodosius) Caves, a tour for the cardinal was conducted by the reserve's lecturer Yuliia Vyzyr. At present, this site is operating in test mode and is open only on Fridays and Sundays.
As the Union of Orthodox Journalists reported, the newly appointed UGCC cardinal came to a press conference with the flag of Ukraine.
