Metropolitan Pavel led the Liturgy at Holoseyevo Monastery
In the academic church of the Pokrovsky Holoseyevo Monastery, on the feast day of St. Sergius of Radonezh, hierarchs of the UOC celebrated a divine service.
The abbot of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, Metropolitan Pavel of Vyshhorod and Chornobyl, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the academic church of the Venerable John of Damascus on the grounds of the Pokrovsky Holoseyevo Monastery. The service was held on the feast of the finding of the holy relics of the Venerable Sergius, Abbot of Radonezh, as well as the commemoration of the Venerable Athanasius, Abbot of Athos. This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra.
During the service, Metropolitan Pavel was co-served by the head of the Information and Educational Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Klyment of Nizhyn and Pryluky, as well as the clergy of the Pechersk Monastery and the Kyiv Theological Academy and Seminary.
At the conclusion of the Liturgy, the clergy and faithful sang the troparion, kontakion, and magnification of the Venerable Sergius, and read a prayer before his icon.
His Eminence Pavel thanked the concelebrating brethren for their prayers, congratulated those celebrating their name days on the feast of their heavenly patrons, and congratulated those who had received Communion on partaking of the Holy Mysteries of Christ.
As the UOJ previously reported, a court opened proceedings on the SSRE's lawsuit seeking the liquidation of the Holoseyevo Hermitage.
