Priest Mykola Yevtushenko was taken to the TCC to verify his data and undergo a military medical commission, after which his family was denied a meeting with him.

On July 21, 2026, on the road to Uman, police officers and TCC employees stopped a vehicle, and after checking documents, detained 52-year-old cleric of the Uman diocese, Priest Mykola Yevtushenko, and brought him to the territorial recruitment center, the family of the clergyman told the UOJ.

As Father Mykola's relatives recounted, TCC representatives stated that the priest was listed as wanted. He was offered a ride to verify his military registration data and undergo a military medical commission, with assurances that he would be released after the necessary procedures were completed.

«I waited until 5:30 PM. The duty officer informed me that he was with them, but they had no other information», the message states. The priest was not allowed to take his phone with him, and later a note was passed from him requesting that clothes and medication be brought, as he is continuing a course of treatment. His relatives were not permitted to see him.

Priest Mykola Yevtushenko serves in the Uman diocese of the UOC. He is the rector of the Church of the Holy Martyr Demetrius of Thessalonica in the village of Tanske and the Church of the Holy Unmercenaries Cosmas and Damian in the village of Dobrovody.

The following morning, the TCC duty officer contacted the priest's family again and conveyed his request to bring additional items, medicine, fruit, and vegetables. The parcel was accepted, but a meeting was again refused. The TCC only informed them that Father Mykola was being interviewed by representatives of the local military unit.

Previously, the UOJ reported that the TCC abducted the vice-rector of the Sumy Theological Seminary.
