Ternopil Region Authorities Transfer Church Building to UGCC
Officials of Chortkiv District secured the right of free use of the church building for the Uniates.
The Chortkiv District Military Administration has transferred the church building in the village of Verkhniakovtsi for free use to the UGCC. This was reported by the Chortkiv DMA on Facebook.
The decision to transfer the property to the community "Parish of Venerable Paraskeva of Ternovo" of the Buchach Eparchy of the UGCC was formalized by the signing of the corresponding act on July 22, 2026.
The commission session was chaired by the head of the Chortkiv DMA, Volodymyr Shypytko, who acted on the basis of orders from regional and district leadership. On behalf of the religious organization, the document was signed by the rector Mykhailo Mankut.
According to the Transfer and Acceptance Act, the building was handed over to the Uniates for free use, which legally secured the church for the Buchach Eparchy of the UGCC.
As the SPJ reported, construction of a UGCC church in Kyiv is being resumed despite protests from residents.
