Iranian rabbi calls for revenge for the assassination of the country's Muslim leader
An Iranian rabbi justified the demand for "blood revenge" with biblical texts and called for the elimination of those who organized the assassination of Khamenei.
The spiritual leader of the Jewish community of Iran, Rabbi Yunes Hamami Lalezar, has called for the physical elimination of those responsible for the assassination of Ali Khamenei. This is reported by World Israel News.
Speaking at the conference "Fulfillment of the Promise of Revenge," Rabbi Lalezar justified the necessity of retaliatory measures for the elimination of Khamenei, which took place in February 2026. The religious figure emphasized that the deliberate taking of life is the gravest sin, which demands mandatory justice against the organizers of the crime.
Drawing on sacred texts, Hamami Lalezar called for the implementation of "blood revenge." He quoted the biblical ruling that land defiled by shed blood cannot be cleansed in any other way than by the blood of the one who shed it. According to the rabbi, retribution is not an emotional act of anger, but the exercise of a legitimate right to justice.
In his address, the community leader also pointed to the distinction between the Jewish faith and the political movements of the Zionist regime. He noted that many Orthodox believers refuse military service and oppose the policies of Tel Aviv. The rabbi emphasized that those who organized the attacks on Iranian commanders and officials must be held accountable.
Support for the initiative was expressed by the representative of the Jewish community in the Iranian parliament, Homayoun Sameh. He called on the authorities to move to active operations in order to make adversaries "regret and suffer." Sameh stressed that in this situation the principle of "an eye for an eye and blood for blood" must apply, and that a refusal to retaliate could provoke new attacks on the country.
