Zorya spoke to the Archbishop of Nairobi about religious life in Ukraine.

A PCU delegation led by Yevstratiy Zorya visited Nairobi. The visit took place with the support of Ukrainian diplomats. This was reported by the PCU press service.

From July 24 to 26, 2026, Yevstratiy Zorya and "priest" Vitaliy Danchak were in Kenya, where they met with Archbishop Makarios of Nairobi, a hierarch of the Patriarchate of Alexandria. The trip, officially coordinated with the Exarch of East Africa, took place as a "gesture of solidarity" in opposition to the ROC.

A significant portion of the PCU's report on the visit to Kenya was devoted to condemning the ROC's actions in Africa against the Alexandrian Church, which is "innocently suffering from schismatic Russian activity."

"We fully share the pain of our brothers in Christ as our own pain. Because we in Ukraine suffer from the same uncanonical actions of the Church of Russia," the PCU recalled its 2025 synod decision.

At the conclusion of the visit, Zorya led a "worship service" at the Cathedral of Saints Cosmas and Damian in Nairobi.

This visit was a continuation of the PCU Synod's position, which in November 2025 officially expressed support for the Patriarchate of Alexandria in connection with the establishment of the ROC Exarchate on the African continent. PCU representatives noted the importance of prayer for a just peace in Ukraine and thanked the African clergy for their hospitality.

As the UOJ reported, the hierarchs of the Phanar condemned the creation of the ROC Exarchate in Africa and expressed support for the PCU.
