US Blogger Who Interviewed Zelensky: There Are No Muslims in Ukraine and It's Refreshing
Laura Loomer, after her interview with Volodymyr Zelensky, stated that there are no Muslims in Ukraine, calling it a positive phenomenon.
There are no Muslims left in Ukraine, and this is "refreshing" – such a statement about Islam was made by American blogger Laura Loomer, who had recently interviewed Volodymyr Zelensky. She wrote about this in her X account.
After her meeting with Zelensky, she noted that she had not seen a single Muslim in Ukraine, and called it a "refreshing" contrast compared to the situation in Western countries.
The statement drew criticism: journalists from "Pershyi Kozatskyi" characterized Loomer's words as a manifestation of xenophobia and religious intolerance. The dual nature of the Ukrainian authorities' position was also noted separately: Zelensky personally records an interview with someone openly displaying Islamophobic views, while Ukrainian Muslim religious organizations are members of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations (AUCCRO), which supported the law banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC).
As the Union of Orthodox Journalists previously reported, Zelensky congratulated the Muslims of Ukraine on Eid al-Adha.
