Nizhyn Eparchy celebrates patronal feast of Hustynia Convent
At the Hustynia Convent, Metropolitan Clement led the Divine Liturgy, concelebrated by three bishops and clergy from several UOC eparchies.
On August 10, 2026, a festive divine service was held at the Holy Trinity Hustynia Convent of the Nizhyn Eparchy in honor of the Hustynia Icon of the Mother of God, reports the press service of the Vinnytsia Eparchy.
The Divine Liturgy was led by Metropolitan Clement of Nizhyn and Pryluky. He was concelebrated by Metropolitan Nykodym of Zhytomyr and Novohrad-Volynsky, Metropolitan Varsonofiy of Vinnytsia and Bar, Archbishop Feodosiy of Ladan, and clergy from several eparchies.
During the service, the bishops and faithful prayed for peace in Ukraine, the preservation of the lives of soldiers, and the well-being of the Ukrainian people. After the Divine Liturgy, a procession was held with the Hustynia Icon of the Mother of God. At the conclusion of the service, the hierarchs thanked the clergy and faithful for their joint prayer.
The Hustynia Icon of the Mother of God has been known in the monastery since the 17th century. The monastery's chronicle preserves a record that as early as 1670, the icon was already revered as having been glorified through numerous miracles and healings. The icon was originally located above the monastery well and was later moved into the shrine.
As the UOJ reported, thousands of the faithful prayerfully venerated the Mother of God at the Pochaiv Lavra.
