Cherkasy RMA head reports Uman's preparations for Hasidic pilgrims' visit
Uman will strengthen security measures, medical services, transportation, and checkpoints, and an operational headquarters will be established for the duration of Rosh Hashanah celebrations.
On August 18, the head of the Cherkasy RMA, Ihor Taburets, announced preparations in Uman for receiving Hasidic pilgrims for the celebration of Rosh Hashanah on September 11–13. He wrote about this on his official Telegram channel.
According to Taburets, the authorities have already coordinated the principle measures related to security, law enforcement, medical support, sanitary arrangements, transportation, and the operation of checkpoints. All involved services will be placed on an enhanced operational footing.
The city's infrastructure is being inspected, pilgrim movement routes are being worked out, and those responsible for individual areas are being identified. Decisions will be adjusted depending on the security situation.
An operational headquarters will be in operation in Uman for the duration of the pilgrimage. Taburets emphasized that the safety of local residents and visiting worshippers remains the top priority for the authorities.
The RMA head also urged pilgrims to bear in mind that the war in Ukraine is still ongoing.
The UOJ previously reported that DESS discussed preparations for the Hasidic pilgrimage to Uman.
