US Ambassador to Israel Urges Christians to Honor Judaism as the Foundation of Their Faith
The American diplomat stated that Christianity cannot be separated from the Jewish heritage, and that Western civilization is founded on Judeo-Christian values.
The US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee stated that Christians must remember the close connection of their faith to Judaism. He spoke about this in an interview with The Jerusalem Report.
“Israel is the foundation of Judaism, and Judaism is the foundation of Christianity,” Huckabee noted. According to him, American Christians’ support for Israel is connected not only to politics but also to their religious convictions.
The diplomat also stated that Western civilization was shaped on the basis of Judeo-Christian values. According to Huckabee, American values have a “God-centered, Judeo-Christian foundation,” according to which human rights come from God, not from the state.
Previously, Huckabee has repeatedly spoken about the connection of the Christian faith to the Jewish heritage.
“You can be Jewish and you don’t need Christians to validate your faith, but I cannot be a Christian without the foundation of Judaism, which is at the core of what it means to be a Christian – Huckabee stated. – It would be like saying: ‘I really love who I am, but I never want to acknowledge that I had a mother and a father’”, – said the American ambassador in another interview.
