Bishop of Boyarka Veniamin Visited UOC Parishes in Scandinavian Countries
The Administrator of the Western European Vicariate of the UOC celebrated services in Sweden and Norway.
The Administrator of the Western European Vicariate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Bishop of Boyarka Veniamin, visited Ukrainian Orthodox communities in Sweden and Norway. This was reported by the official Facebook page of the Western European Vicariate.
On August 4–5, 2026, with the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphrius, Bishop Veniamin celebrated festal services on the occasion of the patronal feast of the parish in honor of the Pochaiv Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos in Stockholm. The hierarch was co-served by the rector of the parish, Archpriest Petro Ivasiv, the clergy of the vicariate, as well as priests of the Georgian and Serbian Local Churches.
On August 6–7, the bishop visited Saint Ignatius College in the city of Södertälje at an official invitation, where he met with Dean Dr. Michael Helm and celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the college chapel.
On August 8–9, Bishop Veniamin visited the UOC parish in Gothenburg, where he celebrated an All-Night Vigil and the Divine Liturgy together with rector Archpriest John Chichyna, and also visited UOC missionary centers in the surrounding cities, where he met with Ukrainians and representatives of the Church of Sweden. The dean and clergy of Saint Ignatius College expressed their desire for further cooperation with the vicariate.
On August 16, the hierarch celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Trinity parish in the Norwegian city of Kristiansand, congratulating rector Archpriest Vladimir Saviysky on the 25th anniversary of his priestly ordination.
As the UOJ reported, In Budapest, the Bishop of Rakhiv presided over the patronal feast of the UOC community.
