Roman Malenkov complained that neither the war, nor Russian missiles, nor Ukrainian authorities can stop the cross-walkers heading to Pochaiv.

The director of the national reserve "Ancient Kyiv" Roman Malenkov published a post on Facebook criticizing UOC pilgrims walking in a procession of the cross from Kamianets-Podilskyi to the Pochaiv Lavra.

According to Malenkov, tens of thousands of people are taking part in the procession: "They are walking again, and it is a terrible horror."

"Neither the war, nor Russian missiles, nor the Ukrainian authorities — who behave in this case in a rather spineless manner — can stop them. Is this not a mass gathering, which is prohibited by law?" the official asks.

Malenkov does not clarify whether the law permits celebrations of tens of thousands of Hasidic Jews in Uman, mass pilgrimages of Catholics and Greek Catholics, or open-air rock concerts.

He insists that "a significant portion of them have remained pro-Russian waiters."

"Their organization and numbers are simply terrifying. And this is in western Ukraine," the official wrote.

The Union of Orthodox Journalists previously reported that the traditional procession of the cross from Kamianets-Podilskyi to the Pochaiv Lavra had set out.
