The Synodal Department for Youth Affairs organized training for altar servers from various eparchies of the UOC.
From August 24 to 26, a rally of young altar servers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church was held at a tent camp on the grounds of the Transfiguration Neshcherivka Monastery in Kyiv Oblast, organized by the Synodal Department for Youth Affairs. This was reported by the head of the youth department, Archbishop Iona of Obukhiv, on his Facebook page.
About forty young clergy from various eparchies of the UOC took part in the event. The rally program included talks on divine services, liturgical vestments and sacred vessels, as well as the finer points of the altar server's ministry. In addition to the educational part, the participants enjoyed songs and conversations around the campfire, swimming, and various competitions and games.
On August 26, the rally participants departed to their respective places of church obedience in order to prepare for the feast of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos.
As the UOJ reported, summer camps and theological gatherings for youth were previously held in the eparchies of the UOC.
