Orthodox Youth Congress held in Bucharest
The Orthodox Youth Congress has opened at the National Cathedral in Bucharest with the participation of Patriarch Daniel and the President of Romania.
The solemn opening of the Orthodox Youth Congress took place at the National Cathedral in Bucharest and began with a church service led by Romanian Patriarch Daniel. This was reported by a correspondent of the UOJ.
The President of Romania and representatives of local authorities took part in the service. After the service concluded, Patriarch Daniel addressed the congress participants with a welcoming speech, followed by remarks from the President of the country and representatives of local authorities.
According to the organizers, approximately 2,400 young Orthodox Christians are taking part in the congress. The event is being held at the main church of the Romanian Orthodox Church, which hosts major all-church and state gatherings.
As the UOJ previously reported, Patriarchs Bartholomew and Daniel consecrated the largest cathedral in the world in Bucharest.
