JD Vance: I wouldn't be shocked if the Antichrist was walking among us
U.S. Vice President JD Vance said he would not rule out the possibility that the Antichrist is already present in the modern world. The American politician spoke about his religious beliefs and his views on the end times in an interview with Christian blogger Bryce Crawford.
“Do I think that we’re in the end times? I don’t know,” Vance said. “And I think that it's probably bad for me spiritually to focus too much on it because there are things you got to do... And so while I'm fascinated by it, I think focusing on it is too much can be very bad.”
At the same time, the politician said the current state of society points to the presence of evil in the world. In his view, many events taking place today could be seen as signs that the end of the world is approaching.
“I think that there are things about the world that make me feel like not shocked if the Antichrist was walking among us,” the vice president said. “I tend to think that while I wouldn't be shocked if we were living in the end times, what I'm trying to focus on is doing as much of God's work as possible right now.”
Vance emphasized that he was prepared to accept whatever course human history may take. He said fulfilling one’s Christian duty is what matters most, regardless of when the apocalypse may come.
“And if that leads to the end times, okay, and if that leads to, you know, us building a better world that thrives and survives for a very long time after I'm gone, that's great, too,” the vice president concluded.
As the UOJ reported, the Roman Catholic Church criticized a billionaire over lectures about the Antichrist.
