Izium Diocese of the UOC Helped Displaced Persons from Kupiansk and Vovchansk

On September 2, 2026, representatives of the Izium Diocese held a meeting with internally displaced persons from frontline districts. This was reported by the diocese's press service.

The meetings were held with the blessing of Archbishop John of Izium and Kupiansk at the dormitory of the Kharkiv Aviation Institute and another dormitory where people who were forced to leave their homes due to hostilities are living. Aid was received by residents of Kupiansk, Vovchansk, Velykyi Burluk, Dvorichna, and Prykolotne. The diocese's social department provided the displaced persons with 9 wheelchairs, 2 walkers, and other essential household items.

In addition to material assistance, personal communication and spiritual support were of great importance. Protodeacon Artemiy Bondarenko held a spiritual conversation with those present, listened to their concerns, and conveyed to all the blessing of the ruling hierarch of the diocese.

As the SPJ reported, the Izium Diocese had previously supported displaced persons from frontline territories. On August 12, aid was received by residents of Kupiansk and Vovchansk, as well as the villages of Kovsharivka and Senkove.
