Dumenko discusses demographic crisis with Ukraine’s education minister
OCU head Epifaniy Dumenko met with Ukraine’s Minister of Education and Science Andriy Butenko and head of the State Education Quality Service Ruslan Hurak to discuss the need to preserve the country’s human potential. This was reported by the OCU press service.
The participants discussed in detail the challenges facing education amid ongoing hostilities and constant air strikes. Particular attention was given to the situation of Ukrainian young people living abroad. The officials discussed the development of online education projects aimed at maintaining young emigrants’ national and spiritual ties with their homeland.
The participants also discussed the country’s difficult demographic situation. They emphasized the need for joint efforts to preserve Ukraine’s human potential. According to the OCU, citizens are the state’s greatest asset, and refugees therefore require particular attention.
As the UOJ reported, an analyst predicted that the Ukrainian nation could disappear within 50 years.
