Zaporizhzhia authorities have launched a survey on renaming a street after an OUN figure.

The Zaporizhzhia City Council announced plans to rename Borysohlibska Street in the Shevchenkivskyi District of Zaporizhzhia after OUN figure Yurii Kurylo.

The district administration is conducting an electronic survey of residents until September 25, 2026. One of the first proposed new names was that of OUN figure Yurii Kurylo. The proposal was submitted to the district administration by local resident Mariia Topchii.

Yurii Kurylo, son of one of the leaders of the Melitopol underground of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists, Illarion Kurylo-Krymchak, headed the OUN youth cell in the village of Voznesenka during World War II, which distributed agitation literature and conducted propaganda among young people. In 1945, a Soviet tribunal sentenced him to ten years of hard labor and five years in camps. After his release, he lived in the settlement of Mokryanka, where there is Borysohlibska Street now.

As the UOJ reported, in Volhynia, the OCU consecrated a memorial sign to a UPA commander.
