Congresswoman: I pray that Zelensky and Putin agree to U.S. peace plan
U.S. Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna called on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin to carefully consider the approach to a peace settlement that U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are expected to present to both sides during negotiations. The congresswoman wrote about this on X.
According to Luna, closer relations between the United States, Ukraine and Russia are still possible, but peace must first be achieved.
“The war in Ukraine needs to end. I pray that both the Ukrainian and Russian elected officials and Presidents consider what Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff will bring. An end to the war will bring prosperity to all parties involved,” the congresswoman wrote.
Luna also stressed that leaders cannot allow pro-war agents and media to influence their decisions, as they must put the well-being of their people first. In her view, stronger relations between the United States, Ukraine and Russia can xontinue to stregthen, "but we NEED peace" in the first place.
The statement came as U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner prepared to visit Moscow and Kyiv to present an updated plan for ending the war.
As the UOJ reported, Patriarch Theophilos announced plans to visit Kyiv and Moscow in an effort to promote peace.
