UOC commemorates Synaxis of All Saints of the Kherson Land
On September 5, 2026, Metropolitan Ioann of Kherson and Tavria celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Transfiguration Church of the Holy Spirit Cathedral in Kherson on the feast of the Synaxis of All Saints of the Kherson Land. Clergy of the eparchy concelebrated with him, pravoslavie.ks.ua reports.
During the Liturgy, the faithful prayed for peace in Ukraine and for the soldiers. After the service, a procession was held, at the conclusion of which Metropolitan Ioann congratulated the clergy of the eparchy and all those present on the 30th anniversary of the glorification of Hieromartyr Prokopiy, Archbishop of Kherson, and on the feast of All Saints of the Kherson Land.
The hierarch stressed that the spiritual feat and faith of the glorified saints of their native land continue to support believers today, giving them strength to remain Christians, not lose hope and endure all the trials of wartime with faith.
The festive service concluded with a charity meal on the grounds of the Holy Spirit Cathedral in Kherson.
The Synaxis of All Saints of the Kherson Land is a feast of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church honoring the saints who labored in the Kherson region, including Hieromartyr Prokopiy, Archbishop of Kherson, who was glorified 30 years ago.
As the UOJ reported, the Holy Spirit Cathedral in Kherson has repeatedly been damaged by shelling, but its clergy and parishioners continue to hold services there.
