Ukrainian RCC bishop: Enmity between Poland and Ukraine incited by RF agents
The General Secretary of the Episcopate of the RCC in Ukraine, Bishop Eduard Kava, speaking on the air of the «Espreso» television channel, stated that the growing conflicts and manifestations of aggression between Ukrainians and Poles are backed by RF agents.
According to the bishop, initially the RCC clergy considered the cases of aggression against Ukrainians in Poland to be emotional and isolated episodes. However, over time they saw that the negative trends were developing into a dangerous process that was only spreading further.
The RCC representative in Ukraine emphasized that specific external structures stand behind the destabilization of the situation. "We know who we are talking about, that behind all of this stands the agency of the Russian Federation. Therefore, we decided to address people of good will, believers and non-believers, in Ukraine first of all, and in Poland, so that they do not become instruments in the hands of those who today are manipulating or seeking to sow enmity between Ukrainians and Poles."
The Catholic bishop called on citizens of both countries not to fall for provocations and categorically not to project past historical conflicts onto the modern relations between the peoples.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that RCC bishops called to "clarify the dark spots" between Ukraine and Poland.
