Injured monks of Biziukov Monastery receive communion in Kherson hospital
On September 21, 2026, on the feast of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos, the brethren of St. Gregory's Biziukov Monastery of the Kherson Eparchy of the UOC received the Sacrament of Communion in one of the region's medical facilities. The monks had previously been injured and are undergoing treatment at the moment, reports the Telegram channel of the Kherson Eparchy of the UOC.
With the blessing of Metropolitan John of Kherson and Tavria, the injured brethren were visited by the Secretary of the Novovorontsovsk Vicariate, Archimandrite Ambrose (Prikhodko). He performed a church service and gave communion to the monastery's residents who are receiving treatment. According to available information, the condition of the injured monks is currently satisfactory.
Metropolitan John expressed sincere gratitude to all the faithful who are praying for the recovery of the monastery's residents.
As the UOJ reported, as a result of a series of Russian drone attacks on St. Gregory's Monastery in the village of Chervonyi Mayak of the Novovorontsovsk Vicariate of the Kherson Eparchy and a subsequent strike on the evacuating residents, the oldest resident of the monastery was killed and four others were injured.
St. Gregory's Biziukov Monastery is located in the Beryslav district of the Kherson region, which has long been in an active combat zone and is regularly subjected to attacks.
