In Kremenchuk, TRC gasses UOC cleric and injures his ribs during mobilization
Protodeacon Viktor Dudnichenko of the Kremenchuk Diocese of the UOC was forcibly mobilized and sent to a military unit in the Chernihiv region.
Protodeacon of the Holy Dormition Cathedral of the UOC in Kremenchuk, Viktor Dudnichenko, was mobilized on September 21, 2026. According to the Kremenchuk Eparchy, the cleric was detained by force near the entrance of his home.
The clergyman was pulled out of a car and had tear gas sprayed in his face. While being pushed onto a bus, his chest was compressed and his ribs were injured.
During his time at the Territorial Recruitment Center (TRC) and the military medical commission (MMC), no one responded to the protodeacon's complaints about pain in his ribs and in the heart area. His mobile phone was taken away and he was not given the opportunity to contact a lawyer or family members.
On September 23, 2026, Protodeacon Viktor Dudnichenko was taken to one of the military units in the Chernihiv region, where he remains to this day. There is no contact with him.
As the UOJ reported, in Volyn TRC officers beat and took a UOC priest to a training ground. Such cases of forcible mobilization of clergy continue to be recorded in various eparchies of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
