UOC Holy Trinity Church damaged by Russian shelling in Odesa region
A Russian attack on the Odesa Eparchy church shattered windows and damaged doors and icons.
The Holy Trinity Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church’s Odesa Eparchy in Vylkove, Odesa Region, was damaged in a Russian attack on the local community, the eparchy’s press service reported on its Telegram channel.
The blast wave shattered the church’s windows and damaged its doors, as well as the church building, Sunday school, and priest’s residence. Sacred objects inside the church, including icons, were also damaged. The eparchy emphasized that no one was injured.
In its statement, the eparchy noted that war does not spare holy sites or places of prayer. It called on the faithful to seek peace and mutual understanding and to pray for Ukraine, its people, and a swift end to the bloodshed.
As previously reported by the UOJ, a UOC church in Chornomorsk was affected by shelling.
