A commercial court overturned a 2018 registrar’s decision and stripped the UOC’s Ternopil Eparchy of ownership of the 17th-century church.

The service was led by Metropolitan Serhii of Ternopil and Kremenets. He was concelebrated by Metropolitans Meletiy of Chernivtsi and Bukovyna, Theodore of Kamianets-Podilskyi and Horodok, Volodymyr of Pochaiv, and Archbishop Job of Shumsk.

Numerous believers prayed together with the hierarchs and clergy.

As reported by the UOJ, four cases against the UOC are being considered in courts in the Ternopil region. As for the church itself, the lower church of the Cathedral of the Martyrs Faith, Hope, Love and their Mother Sophia was consecrated on September 30, 2002. This date coincides with the memorial day of the saints to whom the cathedral is dedicated.
