UOC hierarch consecrates new bell tower at church in Behendiatska Pastil
In Transcarpathia, a vicar bishop of the Mukachevo Eparchy celebrated the Liturgy and then performed the rite of consecration of the new bell tower.
On the 18th Sunday after Pentecost, Bishop Ilarion of Svaliava performed the rite of consecration of the new bell tower at St. Michael’s Church in the village of Behendiatska Pastil, Zakarpattia region, the Mukachevo Eparchy reported.
The vicar bishop of the Mukachevo Eparchy presided over the Divine Liturgy and the consecration rite with the blessing of Metropolitan Theodor of Mukachevo and Uzhhorod. During the Divine Liturgy, the bishop, clergy, and parishioners offered special prayers for peace in Ukraine, an end to the war, and the country’s servicemen.
Following the service, Bishop Ilarion consecrated the newly built bell tower, delivered a sermon, and conveyed the ruling hierarch’s blessing to the faithful. He also thanked the church rector, Archpriest Vasyl Banga, and all the benefactors who contributed to the construction of the new bell tower.
As the UOJ previously reported, a site for the construction of a bell tower was consecrated in the Khust Eparchy.
