Metropolitan Nektarios: Global system seeks to create “universal religion”
The Greek hierarch warned of the dangers posed by the global system.
In his Sunday sermon, Metropolitan Nektarios of Corfu said that Christianity is under a deliberate attack by a global system seeking to create a “universal religion,” UOJ-Greece reports.
The hierarch of the Church of Greece noted that “wherever Christianity exists, it is threatened and fought against.” According to the Metropolitan, the aim of this policy is to destroy faith in Jesus Christ and keep people trapped in a false reality.
Metropolitan Nektarios also said that in our time, “human freedom is being violated and traded for technology and electronic governance.”
The hierarch noted that despite an abundance of material goods, people remain spiritually hungry and thirst for truth and light because they live amid falsehood and darkness. Above all, he stressed, humanity continues to thirst for the presence of God.
As the UOJ previously reported, the OCU in the Volyn Eparchy called on its pilgrims to criticize Metropolitan Nektarios of Kerkyra.
