Metropolitan Onuphry consecrates Church of Sts. Cosmas and Damian in Kyiv
On the feast day of the “She Who Is Quick to Hear” Icon of the Mother of God, the UOC Primate consecrated a Kyiv church dedicated to the Holy Unmercenaries Cosmas and Damian.
On the feast day of the “She Who Is Quick to Hear” Icon of the Mother of God, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine performed the rite of consecration of the Church of the Holy Wonderworkers and Unmercenaries Cosmas and Damian in Kyiv and celebrated the Divine Liturgy there.
His Beatitude was joined by UOC hierarchs, district deans, the church clergy, and visiting clergy. Following the reading of the Holy Gospel, the Primate addressed the faithful with an archpastoral homily. During the service, the clergy and faithful offered special prayers for peace in Ukraine.
At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry congratulated the church rector, Archpriest Volodymyr Tereshchuk, on his 50th birthday and the consecration of the church, and then invoked God’s blessing upon all those present.
As the UOJ previously reported, Metropolitan Onuphry called on the faithful to pray to the Mother of God for peace in Ukraine.
