‘Won’t find a girl better than you’: UGCC clergy dance on church porch
In Ternopil, UGCC clergy danced to a wedding song on the steps of a church and tossed candy into the crowd.
A video has been circulating online showing UGCC clerics in Ternopil holding a disco on the church porch, performing a wedding song with the lyrics, “Won’t find a girl better than you,” and tossing candy into the crowd.
The footage shows several Uniate priests in cassocks dancing, waving their arms, and entertaining the crowd outside the church entrance to loud pop music. For their performance, the clergy chose a humorous wedding song.
After dancing, the clergy began tossing candy directly into the crowd, leaving children to catch it or pick up pieces that had fallen onto the dirty ground.
The UGCC clergy’s behavior drew sharp criticism from social media users. “This is absolutely crazy. What is happening to the world?” Tamara Shevchuk commented on the video. “Since when do priests sing wedding songs? What is going on?” wrote Nadiia Hazhuk. “What are the children, dogs or cats? Why are you tossing candy to them like bones?” asked Olha Trotsiuk.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that a video circulated online showing women walking through the altar area of a UGCC church.
