The Oleksandriia and Kamianske eparchies organized charity meals for people in need and military personnel.

The Kamianske and Oleksandriia eparchies of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church have been holding regular charity meals for low-income residents and Ukrainian servicemen undergoing rehabilitation, the UOC Synodal Information and Education Department reports.

On October 3, 2026, in the Kamianske Eparchy, Archpriest Oleksandr Riaboshtanov, rector of the chapel dedicated to the “Seeking the Lost” Icon of the Mother of God in the village of Auly, organized a charity meal marking the fifth anniversary of the church’s consecration.

Earlier, on October 1, parishioners of St. Nicholas Cathedral in Kamianske delivered their traditional meal to wounded servicemen at a local hospital. With the blessing of Metropolitan Volodymyr of Kamianske and Tsarychanka, the faithful have been preparing wood-fired borscht, salads, and baked goods for servicemen undergoing rehabilitation for 187 consecutive weeks.

In the Oleksandriia Eparchy, regular meals were held at the Intercession Cathedral in Oleksandriia, where assistance is provided to people in need every Tuesday. On September 24, with the blessing of Metropolitan Boholep of Oleksandriia and Svitlovodsk, the 68th charity meal was held at the Church of the Holy Great Martyrs Theodore the Recruit and Anastasia the Deliverer from Potions.

On September 27, the community of St. Alexander Nevsky Church, led by its rector, Archpriest Anatolii Shtanko, organized a meal outside the eparchial administration building. On September 30, a festive meal was held on the feast day of the Holy Martyrs Faith, Hope, Love, and their mother Sophia.

“By organizing charity meals, church communities seek to stand alongside those in need,” the eparchy said. “Every dish prepared, every serving offered, and every kind word becomes an expression of Christian love for one’s neighbor.”

As the UOJ previously reported, the UOC’s Izium Eparchy provided assistance to children evacuated from Kupiansk.
