Archbishop Ambrose of Zghurivka, UOC clergy serving in Italy, and KDAiS students prayed at the myrrh-streaming relics of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in Bari.
With the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine, Archbishop Ambrose of Zghurivka celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the myrrh-streaming relics of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in the Italian city of Bari, the UOC in Bari reported on Facebook.
The UOC hierarch, who serves as KDAiS vice-rector for student affairs, was joined by Priest Mykola Popadiuk, rector of the local UOC parish; Archpriest Dimitri Popescu, rector of the UOC Parish of All the Venerable Fathers of the Kyiv Caves in Brussels; Archimandrite Nestor (Chaika), rector of the Roman parish dedicated to Hieromartyr Clement of Rome; and other visiting clergy. KDAiS students on pilgrimage also prayed at the service.
During the Liturgy, the faithful offered special prayers for peace in Ukraine, for the country’s defenders, and for all those suffering as a result of the war.
After praying at the relics of St. Nicholas, the group of students from the Kyiv theological schools visited Alberobello, where they venerated the holy head of Protomartyr and Archdeacon Stephen and relics of the Holy Unmercenary Physicians Cosmas and Damian.
As the UOJ previously reported, a pilgrimage group from the Kyiv Theological Seminary arrived on Mount Athos.
