NATO delegation touring Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra
The management of the Lavra Reserve organized a tour for a NATO delegation to highlight the scale of the threat to Ukraine’s cultural heritage.
A NATO delegation of 40 people from 22 countries was brought to the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, among them Lieutenant General Remigijus Baltrėnas, Director General of NATO’s International Military Staff, as reported on the Facebook page of the Lavra Reserve.
The representatives of the military bloc were given a tour and shown the Dormition Cathedral damaged by shelling, a themed exhibition about the destruction and restoration of the cathedral, and the Holy Trinity Gate Church.
The delegation was also treated to a performance of the song "God, Great and One" accompanied by a synthesizer near the bust of Ivan Mazepa, which was installed at the Lavra several months ago.
The Reserve managemnt believes that a tour of the Lavra for representatives of the military bloc will clearly demonstrate the level of threat to Ukrainian cultural heritage.
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that a symphony concert was held at the Lavra with Dumenko's blessing.
