Bishop Veniamin of Boyarka took part in the consecration of the restored monastery of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Hildesheim.

Bishop Veniamin of Boyarka, who heads the Western European Vicariate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC), took part in the solemn consecration of the restored Holy Dormition Monastery of the Serbian Orthodox Church in the German city of Hildesheim, reports the UOC Department for External Church Relations.

The King of Jordan has granted the Serbian Orthodox Church a plot of land to build a church on the bank of the Jordan River.

The bishop was accompanied by Archpriest Serhiy Yarema, rector of the UOC parish of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Cyril and Methodius in Dresden.

The festive service was led by Metropolitan Ioannikije of Montenegro and the Littoral, concelebrated by Metropolitan Grigorije of Düsseldorf and All Germany, as well as hierarchs and clergy of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

As the UOJ reported, the Serbian authorities allocated more than €600 thousand for the renovation of an Orthodox monastery.
