Metropolitan Pavel leads festive service at Lavra skete

The abbot of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra celebrates solemn service at a capital church.

On October 11, 2026, on the feast day of the Synaxis of the Venerable Fathers of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra who repose in the Near Caves, the Lavra's abbot, Metropolitan Pavel of Vyshhorod and Chornobyl, led the Divine Liturgy at the Skete of the Pechersk Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos, reports the Lavra's website.

Metropolitan Pavel was concelebrated by the rector of the Kyiv Theological Academy, Archbishop Sylvester, the monastery's spiritual father, Archimandrite Anthony, as well as brethren and guests in holy orders. The Liturgy was followed by a prayerful procession.

As the UOJ reported, His Beatitude Onuphry emphasized the significance of the Gospel in a person's life.
