UOC volunteers deliver 30 tons of aid from Bukovyna to Sviatohirsk Lavra
Believers of the Chernivtsi and Bukovyna Eparchy of the UOC brought about 30 tons of humanitarian aid for the Sviatohirsk Lavra and residents of nearby villages.
About 30 tons of humanitarian aid for the Sviatohirsk Lavra and residents of nearby villages were delivered from Bukovyna on October 16, 2026, reports a UOJ correspondent.
The aid was brought by volunteers of the Chernivtsi and Bukovyna Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church with the blessing of Metropolitan Meletiy of Chernivtsi and Bukovyna. The cargo was intended for the Holy Dormition Sviatohirsk Lavra and residents of the surrounding villages.
With the blessing of the hierarchy and for security reasons, the entire cargo was unloaded at the Lavra's Skete of St. John of Shanghai in the village of Adamivka. From there, the aid will be passed on to those in need.
The cargo was collected with donations from the clergy and parishioners of the Chernivtsi and Bukovyna Eparchy of the UOC. The eparchy notes that this aid reflects the care of many people who wish to support the Lavra's brethren and residents of settlements going through a difficult time.
As the UOJ reported, Chernivtsi believers brought aid to the monastery earlier, in August. Believers from various eparchies of the UOC regularly bring the monastery food, clothing and essential items for monks, refugees and local residents.
